# What's the "Node Operator Fee?"

To manage any associated costs for being a Pulsechain Validator, the Godfather will charge a 20% fee on any of the net profit (staking rewards) that's paid at the end of the validator term (1 year). We want to ensure that all rewards received for validating get reapplied to more validators, hence why our fee comes at the end of the staking term (August 15, 2024).

For example, if the principal staked is 1B PLS, which ends up earning 200m PLS (assuming 20% APR) over the course of the 1 year stake length, the Godfather would receive 40m PLS (20% of 200m) for protecting the family, while those that own the MAFIA token (ie his loyal family) receives the rest.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://mikes-organization-9.gitbook.io/pulsemafia/overview/whats-the-node-operator-fee.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
