# What is a Pulsechain Validator?

Most people are familiar with Bitcoin or Ethereum Mining (Proof of Work). After Ethereum upgraded to Proof of Stake, a "miner" is now called a "validator."

Instead of buying mining rigs (multiple computers), you can buy 1 computer and set up many validators, so long as you have 32 ETH (\~$60,000) per validator. It's quite expensive to run an Ethereum Validator.

Pulsechain is a fork of Ethereum and instead requires 32,000,000 (32M) for 1 validator (\~$3,000 at todays market value). The APR depends on many other validators there are, however you can check out the latest Pulsechain Validator APR [here](https://launchpad.pulsechain.com/en/).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://mikes-organization-9.gitbook.io/pulsemafia/overview/pulsemafia-faq/what-is-a-pulsechain-validator.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
