# Can you mint an Unlimited amount of MAFIA?

Yes, the current token contract owner has the ability to mint an unlimited amount of MAFIA. We need the ability to mint more MAFIA token as more individuals particpate.

In the unlikely event that a bad actor gains access to the owners wallet and mints an unlimited amount (causing the MAFIA token to crash), we'll create a new token contract, airdrop the existing holders, and use that new token for you to redeem your PLS on August 15, 2024.
